Tahini Dried Figs

My favorite way to eat figs (and tahini). So simple it doesn’t need a recipe but I’m putting it here anyway because the world needs to know.

Ingredients:
Yields: About 2 servings as a dessert or snack

A large handful of dried Calimyrna figs

3 tbsp tahini

½ tsp arrowroot powder (optional)

1 tsp lemon juice

Directions:

  1. If you want a thicker tahini filling add the arrowroot powder. If you don’t mind a drippy, messy tahini then feel free to skip it.

  2. Whisk tahini, arrowroot powder and lemon juice together.

  3. Cut a small indentation into the thickest part of the dried fig. Continue with the remaining figs.

  4. Stuff about a 1 tsp of the tahini filling in each fig.

  5. Attempt to close the fig back up.

  6. Stuff in mouth.
