Maui Style Poke

When I’m not home on Maui and can’t make a quick stop at Foodland I whip up this Ahi Poke recipe. Easy recipe to adjust depending on flavor preferences.  


Yields: 6-8 servings

2 lbs. sashimi grade tuna

½ c. Maui sweet onion, sliced

¾ c. green onions

¼-½ c. shoyu

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tbsp sesame seeds

2 tbsp minced ginger

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 avocado, diced


  1. Cut tuna into small chunks.

  2. Add remaining ingredients and combine well.

  3. Cover poke and let marinade for at least two hours.

  4. Serve with avocado and/or brown rice, rice cakes, or wonton chips.
